Short Writing Blurb: Who’s The Villain?

Come on, Sera, you can do this, her mind yelled at her. She felt a bead of sweat form on her brow, and she concentrated on lighting up the small lightbulb. Her necklace felt heavier and heavier, burning into her chest. But the more she concentrated on the lightbulb, the more it just stayed.
“Leave it alone, Seraphina, it won’t happen.” Mariel sat in the corner of the room, studying her sister  primly, as if she was a puzzle meant to be solved without frustration. “You just don’t have the ability. Give it to me.”
Sighing, little Sera got up and handed the lightbulb over. “You really think you have magic?” She said innocently, questioningly. Her little eyes got wider, and she stared as the bulb began to glow bright. Mariel just smiled triumphantly, although her eyes betrayed surprise.
“See? Easy-peasy!” She tossed the lightbulb back and stalked out of the room. She was always like a cat, ready to pounce. With her gone, Seraphina deflated, relaxing enough to crawl over to where the lightbulb remained smashed on the floor, tiny fragments too little to glue together, let alone get in the right place. Tears started to form in her eyes. How would she ever get anywhere without magic? Mariel was already going to pass her test: everybody knew it.
The breath left Sera, and she grabbed onto her necklace. Usually it calmed her down, holding the locket. But today, it did nothing to comfort her. Sobs racked her breath as she ripped it off her neck, throwing it away from her.
Tears streamed freely as her attention turned back to the light bulb. She couldn’t use it now: it was broken. Better just to clean it up now, instead of Mother finding out. Sera reached out her hands, going to sweep it up. Then her arms locked, and she struggled to fight the feeling. But what was the point? Nothing would happen anyways. She surrendered her will to whatever was controlling her arms, and instinct guided her. A little tug pulled at her heart, and her hands started to glow.
The fragments trembled excitedly, and they started to hop around. The smaller pieces glowed the brightest, and everything was drawn to the core as if they were moths to a light. A blinding flash filled the room, although Sera couldn’t bring herself to look away.
Everything was awfully quiet. Her necklace, hidden under the couch. The curtains, betraying a thin draft, were the only things moving. And her hands, trembling, rested on her thighs. The lightbulb, not a crack on it, was slowly rolling back and forth. Yes, it made a sound. A tiny little scratching.
         This was worse.

Song Update: Three Sweet and Soft

Sup! I guess I haven't been on much, but I'll make up for it now. So, back to the songs. Three songs only! What is sweet, but soft? (Hint: not all love songs.) In fact, not all of these songs are written by star-crossed lovebirds! What about the ones that don't get the recognition because of being on a movie sound track? Or because of that one popular song that everyone heard? Or what about that popular song? Well, you'll find out!

1. I See Fire by Ed Sheeran
This song makes me so inspired, so
amazed! Nothing could crescendo so much but be so soft, so loud but bold. This song fits all categories, sweet, soft, and no love song! Also, it got not as much recognition as it deserved because of being on a movie soundtrack. But the critically acclaimed Desolation Of Smaug and amazing singer Ed Sheeran gave it helps of popularity.

2. Human by Christina Perri
Ahh, another crescendoing song that does great on its own. This isn't on a movie soundtrack, but is written by overnight sensation Christina Perri, who went from cafe waiter to pop singer in a couple of hours. Her fame and fortune don't do the song justice, and it stands good as its own accompaniment, making good progress.

3. Say Something (I'm Giving Up on You) by Great Big World Ft. Christina Aguilera
I probably tricked you there by throwing in that other Christina, huh? But this Christina has been a great musical talent for quite some time now, and she brought this song from Great Big World up from its knees. But without her, the song doesn't skip a beat.

This was short, yeah? I guess I am too tired or some other nonsense, but I still think I am doing good choices. It might look a little mismatched, but there were so many songs in this category I was ashamed of only doing three.Well, good night, good bye, and Good Luck With Your Life!

Lonely and Depressed

Hey, I dont really want to go onto specifics, so forgive me if it sounds vague. Ever felt alone? Felt like nobody even glances your way? Yeah, thats how I feel. First, at home, nobody has time for me anymore. At school, me and my friends are being bullied. Finally, its your turn. Imagine all these people who you talked to every day, went to the same school, and actually knew them more than family. Then, dont talk to them for a few a few months. Three or four. Now, imagine going back to them and not getting a second glance, not being noticed, not even an eye blinked towards you. That happened to me too. So, I am going to share a few pictures, and inbetween, a song that has just encouraged me.

To everyone who's lost someone they love
long before it was their time
You feel like they days you had were not enough
when you said goodbye.
To all of the people with burdens and pains
keeping you back from your life
You believe that there's nothing and there is no one
who can make it right
There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus
For the marriage that's struggling just to hang on
They lost all of their faith in love
They've done all they can to make it right again
Still it's not enough
For the ones who can't break the addictions and chains
You try to give up but you come back again
Just remember that you're not alone in your shame
And your suffering
When your lonely
And it feels like the whole world is falling on you
You just reach out, you just cry out to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
To the widow who suffers from being alone
Wiping the tears from her eyes
For the children around the world without a home
Say a prayer tonight

Song Update: Classical Music Two to Four!

Well, my second song update! So, lets talk about classical music! How many of you -assuming anyone reads this, which I think they do since I have at least 200 views- like classical music? (Rhetoric question.) Not many people are so happy about classical music, but that is just because they haven't felt it. You need to feel that magical pull, tugging at your soul, before you have really heard classical music. So, let's go to some fun, amazing, and awe-striking songs, made from only instruments.

1. Jupiter... Amazing, empowering, and classical! It has that feeling that gives something that most songs don't have: a feeling of triumphant and utter joy!!! Be happy!

2. A Disneyland Celebration... Excuse the beep. We played this song for band at my school. I've listened to it ever since. Try blasting it on speakers. AMAZIN'!!!

3. Flight of the Bumblebee... Trombone version. I chose this version not because I play trombone, but because the slide moves so fast!!! Doesn't it sound like a bumblebee?

4. Fur Elise... ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING SONGS OMIGOSH!!! Fangirl, girls, fangirl. It is the best. Beethoven. Song. Evah. Duh.

Song Update: The First Of Many!

Well, I think it would be nice if I could do some weekly music updates. I'll try to do weekly, and at least one or more on the weekends. Each update will have a specific theme, and this one is the first of many. These are songs that inspired a revolution. But this doesn't just mean started a generation. Inspiring a new genre's popularity counts too. So, here is the top 5.

  • Gangnam Style. Even though this song isn't a wow anymore, it certainly inspired a lot of people to become interested in k-pop, and so it definitely deserves recognition.

  • Brave. Okay, this video isn't really on my favorite list, but I can still admire it. It gives me hope, inspiration, into a needy topic: bullying. It inspires me to keep looking into artists like Pink and Katy Perry, who both have inspiring songs in this topic.

  • She Will Be Loved. This is a romantic song that gives a powerful message. The band is amazing, and it gives the demand of love some thought, as it talks about a man who loves a girl who always loves someone else, but he is always there for her and wants the best for her.

  • Sail. Though more popular than the original title I was going to put here, Radioactive, it definitely points you in that direction.
  • Lose My Soul. This is definitely a Christian song that will leave your heart pounding and make you want more. It is amazingly sung, and there isn't much more that I can say except: watch it.

Since you've seen my list, tell me yours! I really want to know!!!

An Encounter At Thompson

This is a true story, from my friend Galia!! I will be putting more comments at the end!! This is a revised version for people who don't know Galia.

So, my friend Savannah wasn't at school on Wednesday, and I was sitting in Drama class with an empty seat next to me. We were waiting for a magic show to begin, and two boys, Jonah and Dylan were horsing around, and got our teacher Mrs. Everret mad. Mrs. Everret told Jonah to go sit somewhere else. Jonah stood up and said "May i go sit in the front so you can watch me more easily?" Mrs. Everret wasn't paying attention and was like "OK, sure." Jonah walks up and pulls the seat next to me. "Hey Galia" He says. I was drawing a picture of a bright, pink rose getting stabbed and bleeding and Jonah looks at it and leans in. "I love it," He says, "especially the blood running down and dripping onto the floor. It looks beautiful. By the way, have i ever told you that you are beautiful, darlin?" He emphasizes the beautiful, and i go rigid, like a pole. I swallow and say, "Yes, you have Jonah. Thank you. And don't call me that!" (I meant darlin, but he took it as beautiful.) "Sure thing darling." he says. And.. Then he... Gently caresses my picture. Yeah. You heard me. That idiot lightly runs his hand along my paper. Then he leans in real close. Like real close. My eyes widen, and I say real quickly "No!" I shove him away, and look away refusing to look at him, covering my face with my hand, and blushing like crazy. Dylan says from the other side of the room. "Oh, yeah Jonah. She likes you." I look over and glare daggers at him. He gulps and looks away. I turn back to Jonah. "I'm sorry I shoved you, but you kind of scare me." I say. The teacher starts to talk and I lean forward to hear her better. Jonah leans closer and whispers. "I  like you." He says. I ignore him and keep listening to the teacher. He repeats it again "I like like you" He whispers again. "Will you be my girlfriend?" I turn to him. He is staring into my eyes like he always does. Didn't his mom tell him that it's rude to stare?  Anyway, I say hesitantly "I thought that you liked (person)." He crinkles his eyebrows and says "No." I gulp. He asks again. "Will you please be my girlfriend?" I look down. "No." He gets all emotional. "Why not? Am i ugly?" He asks, hurt. "Heck no." I tell him. " Then wh- You know what? It's OK if you don't like me" he says. I relax and ask tentatively "Really?" He looks away moodily. "Jonah?" I ask. "It makes sense. You don't like me at all, so i won't like you back either." He says all hurt and mad. OK, I'll admit that I was rude, but he so deserved it... kinda. (not really!) "...Jonah. I like you as a friend." I tell him softly. He doesn't look at me and replies" No, you don't." He sighs. The bell rings and he quickly walks away and out the door. At lunch, he was surrounded by girls, and i felt bad because i actually hurt Jonah, The most loved boy in school! Everybody would hate me if he told any girl, because most of the girls gossiped pretty badly. I sat with a person that liked Jonah before, and I told her, "Hey, um, i need to go talk to Jonah." She was like "OK. HEY JONAH!!" she yells. I was like 'mental face palm' He turns around and she was like "GALIA WANTS TO TALK TO YOU!!" She screams. He says something and she gasps. "I think he just called you a b--ch!" She breathes. I feel fury wash over me and I stomp over to him. "WHAT did you just call me?!" I growl dangerously. Unfortunately, (person) was with me. Jonah answered with, "Huh? what are you talking about?" Person was like "Did you just call her a 'b'?" Jonah was like "NO,NO!!" I'm like, "OK, i need to talk to you..." He looks at me blankly. I take a deep breath, and say "I don't hate you Jonah, I actually like you..." He smiles slightly, "Really?" He asks hopefully. "...As a friend." I finish. He looks away and steps closer, sniffing and blinking quickly (that Drama king!). and did I tell you that he is tall? Yeah. He looks down and says emotionally and sadly. "So that means you don't..." He sniffs and gulps. The girls fall for it and all my so called friends are like "GALIA!! Apologize to him and like him, or you'll break his heart!" (There were like 5 girls and they are popular and we're in the most popular lunch spot!) "NO!" I say. Then they all grab me and start forcefully pushing me into his arms. I look at him and he has a small smile through his fake tears and his arms out. They were pushing me into his full front hug. It was terrifying, and I couldn't get away. I got so upset, I almost cried! I shoved them away angrily and glared almost tearfully at Jonah. I almost said "I hate you", but just stomped away. A random boy walks up to me and hugs me from the side. I just stand there and say "Do you know me?" He looks at me "No." He says. "Then don't touch me." I growl. Jonah stayed away from me the rest of the day.

Well, there you have it folks. Her boyfriend is a crazy nutjob! I laughed so hard listening to this, and then I got sober once I realized what I would have done. I would have punched Jonah right then and there, and you know where that would lead!
